MONITOR AND ME

A computer is a program able machine designed to automatically carry out a sequence of arithmetic or logical operations. The particular sequence of operations can be changed readily, allowing the computer to solve more than one kind of problem. An important class of computer operations on some computing platforms is the accepting of input from human operators and the output of results formatted for human consumption.

Monitor is the one of the important component in the computer. Because without it, we can’t to operate or seeing the data that we have. Monitor is the one of the soft copy device, because of the output is the electronic form in this case is foring the picture in it. The picture that we can see is the product of data processing or the input of data. Monitor have so many size, like the television. 

Monitor for the first time introduced by CAR Hoare and Per Brinch – Hansen in the beginning of 1970’s. Monitor is can anoligize as the one of the building that have 3 rooms, such as : controlling room,  and two waiting room. When the thread enter the monitor, it enter the first waiting room. After that, thread enter the controlling room. Here, the thread ending their job with the shared resources that take a place at controlling room (owning) if the job of the thread haven’t done, but the time alocated for it is over, so that, it must waiting at the second waiting room.

The type of monitor in this world that based on resolution and colour are:

1.       CGA ( Colour Graphics Adapter ) that can show 4 colour

2.       EGA (Enhaced Graphics Adapter) that can show 16 colours

3.       VGA ( Video Graphics Adapter ) that can show the 256 colours

4.       SVG ( Supervideo Graphics Adapter ) that can show 256 colours

5.       XGA , this type can show 256 colours and the resolution is 1280 time.
